THE CHAMPION CAMPAIGN
Wear the Art.Honor the Champion.Help Fight PSP.
Metal sculptor Luis Fernández, known as Lugufelo, spent his life transforming steel into powerful symbols of strength, movement, and hope. Today, as he faces Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, his sculpture Champion has taken on a deeply personal meaning.
This campaign transforms his artwork into something people can wear—preserving his artistic legacy, supporting him during this new chapter, and helping bring greater awareness to PSP.
“Art does not disappear when the artist can no longer create. It continues through the people who carry it forward.”

Lugufelo’s Story
Luis Fernández, known artistically as Lugufelo, is a metal sculptor whose work has transformed stainless steel into powerful expressions of strength, movement, perseverance, and human possibility.
For decades, Luis created monumental sculptures for public spaces, businesses, communities, and private collectors. His work was built not only from metal, but from ideas—each sculpture carrying a story about determination, growth, resilience, and the human experience.
In December 2025, Luis was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare and progressive neurological disease. PSP has significantly affected his vision, movement, and cognitive abilities, making it impossible for him to continue creating sculptures as he once did.
Although Luis can no longer work in his studio, his art, his story, and the meaning behind his work remain very much alive.
One of his most powerful sculptures, Champion, was created to symbolize strength, determination, self-discipline, personal growth, and the people who stand beside us as we work toward our dreams. Today, those same values have taken on a deeply personal meaning.
Every day, Luis faces the challenges of PSP while adapting to a constantly changing reality, surrounded by the love and support of his family and the community that has been touched by his life and his work.
Luis created the Champion. Today, he is the Champion.
Wear the Art. Support the Artist. Help Fight PSP.
Wear the Art was created to transform images of Lugufelo’s original sculptures into apparel, allowing his creativity to continue reaching people even though he can no longer physically create in his studio.
But this campaign is about much more than preserving an artistic legacy.
It is also a call for support.
Living with PSP brings significant and ongoing medical, treatment, therapy, caregiving, and daily-living expenses. As Luis is no longer able to work, funds raised through Wear the Art will help support Luis and his family and help make his increasingly expensive care and treatments more manageable.
At the same time, we want Luis’s journey to help others facing this devastating disease.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to CurePSP, helping support the organization’s work in PSP awareness, education, family resources, advocacy, and research.
Your Support Has Two Important Purposes
When you purchase Wear the Art apparel or make a donation, you are helping:
Support Lugufelo directly as he faces the financial realities of living with PSP and the growing cost of his care and treatments.
Support CurePSP and the PSP community by helping fund awareness, resources for families, and research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Every purchase, every donation, and every person who shares Luis’s story makes a difference.
Wear his art. Carry his story. Support the Champion. Help us fight PSP.
