The red Butterfly is landing at Nokomis, FL
The red Butterfly is landing at Nokomis, FL
We have the pleasure to announce the installation of the Red Butterfly at Rum Runner’s Antique Mall and The Cottage Art gallery. This art piece is the first creation of all Standing Butterflies located across Florida. This one is a symbol of power, love, and passion. It also means years of happiness and prosperity or the dawn of good news. These beautiful, flying insects with large wings have always been an interesting and inspiring structure for a sculptural piece. The holes represent the delicate nature of the insect. The butterfly opens his tattered wings up to the sky and towards the sun in order to receive the energy provided by the sun and to invite others into his peaceful presence.“Butterflies are self-propelled flowers.”Robert A. Heinlein

VENICE ART CENTER ADDS TORSO SCULPTURE
VENICE ART CENTER ADDS TORSO SCULPTURE
Metal art places outside facility Venice - The Venice Art Center has some new art for itself -- outside. The art center called Tuesday a "very special day" with the placement of the Torso sculpture. It was created by metal sculpture lugufelo who has been creating large-scale public art for about 20 years. "Born in Venezuela, lugufelo has been inspired and influenced by one of the great masters of kinetic design, Jesus Rafael Soto, under whom he studied for a period of time," according to his website. "lugufelo came to the United States in the early 1990s in an attempt to escape the deteriorating situation in his country and became a US citizen in 2009. lugufelo’s work is known to be bright, energetic, inspiring, and full of optical illusions." The Venice Art Center thanked the "generous" dinations from Ed and Debbie Cambell "for helping make this happen." lugufelo's website is www.lugufelo.com. Exponential Construction helped with its placement. The Venice Art Center is at 390 Nokomis Ave. The Torso sculpture was place at Venice Art Center on Tuesday afternoon.

Lugufelo install new sculpture called "Red Petals"
Lugufelo install a new sculpture called "Red Petals"
Located at 321 Nokomis Ave S, Venice, FL 34285
When I was in my twenties, I went on a trip with some friends to "La Gran Sabana, Venezuela." (Amazonian Forest) While walking through that vast vegetation, somebody accidentally stepped on a beautiful wildflower and broke it. I saw a beauty in that broken flower like never before and realized that nature could bring us the most amazing scenarios even if we try to destroy it; it stayed in my mind for many years. I have to say that this was a magical trip and a place to visit, where you will find all the stars and different kinds of plants and trees, flowers, birds, and of course, dangerous wildlife. So this is how Petals came to life in my abstract world; in this case, "Red petals" symbolize the language of happiness, love, and the many different sides of a woman.
Flowers represent a way to communicate feelings and human emotions, whether it would be to express your undying love or gratitude for a friend.

Connections at Riviera Beach, FL
Connections at Riviera Beach, FL
lugufelo installs a new sculpture at Riviera Beach, FL It symbolizes human social connections, the relationships we all have with the people around us. As family, friends, and co-workers, these connections may be close or more distant, like people you know casually. Humans are a profoundly social species; our drive to connect with others is embedded in our biology and evolutionary history. It begins at birth, our relationship with our mother. The pleasures of social life set in our brains, the same way physical pleasure does. Our social connection ability is reflected in some of the most basic ways humans communicate, like the use of our voice, facial expressions, and sense of touch.

First Sons and Daughters - Eye - NorthGlenn, Colorado
Eye is part of the series “First Sons and Daughters”. The exaggeration of size and proportion of Eye represent the importance of the senses to the Native American tribes. Living off the land requires one to have elevated senses in order to escape predators, including fellow humans. The size of Eye also represents the idea that both the Native American culture and European cultures were new to each other and were curious about each other’s strange habits and mannerisms. Finally, Eye represents the future of the relationship with the Native Americans.Eye was awarded the “People’s Choice Award” by the Douglas County (CO) Art Encounters in 2014.
